The hunt is on to find the UK’s Best Home with a View
Home is where the heart is. When you buy a property, it comes down to much more than bricks and mortar. It comes down to the feeling of comfort, enjoying your space – and more often than not, an outstanding view can seal the deal.
Homes in the UK boast some of the world’s best views. With everything from rolling beaches and far-reaching countryside, to historic ruins and industrious cityscapes being right on our doorstep, millions of homeowners across the country are proud of the views they and their family enjoy.
With that in mind, we’ve launched the Home with a View competition, to discover exactly which property in the UK has the best view!
So whether you just want to share what you see, show the world a hidden gem of a view or tell everyone why your property is that extra little bit more special than the rest, enter now.
Entry is free.
Entering and judging
Nominations are now open for MyGlazing’s Home with a View competition – and it couldn’t be easier to get involved. Simply take a photo of the view from your home on your phone, tablet or digital camera and then enter your details in the form on the right-hand side of this page and upload your picture.
The view has to be from inside a building you, a family member or friend owns. If you’re not the homeowner yourself, you must seek permission before entering.
Nominations are open from Monday 20th February 2017 to Wednesday 31st May 2017. Once closed, judges will select the four best views from each region. Voting for the regional winners, which takes place online, will open in June 2017 and close in July 2017. The view from each region which receives the most votes will be crowned as the Region’s Best Home with a View, and will then be put forward into the national final. In August 2017, voting will begin to decide the national winner. In October 2017, the view with the most votes will be crowned Britain’s Best Home with a View.
The judging panel, made up of industry experts, will be looking for creativity, imagination and a view that tells a story. They want to be wowed, so make sure your view is truly extraordinary – the more interesting, the better. For information on what must be included in your image, see our rules section.
As well as celebrating the best views from Britain’s homes, we hope this competition will encourage you to think about the benefits of modern, clear and energy efficient glazing for your property. If your own windows with a view in your home need some TLC or updating, please see how the Glass and Glazing Federation Members can help.

From shopping vouchers, to a Go Pro kit or a Fuji Instax, Home with a View has some fantastic prizes lined up. You’ve got to be in it, to win it – so get involved!
And the prize for the location crowned the UK’s Best Home with a View? Pride, and a lot of glory.
Rules
The window must be framed: Whether it’s wood, steel, stone, bricks or plastic – the area surrounding the window must be included in the picture. By including the frame, your picture should be able to tell us something about your home – how old it is, where it’s located. Use the window frame to tell us a story. Photos taken through glass doors won’t be accepted.
The view must be spectacular: We’re looking for beautiful, unusual, interesting and surprising views which have the WOW factor. The more unique and eye-catching, the better. If there are people within your picture, they must be unidentifiable.
The building cannot be open to the public: Pictures must come from inside a property that either you, a family member or friend owns. If you don’t own all or part of the property, you must seek permission to take a photo from the person who does.
Multiple nominations: Know more than one house which boasts a brilliant view? There’s no limit on the number of entries you can make to the competition, so don’t hesitate to enter more than one.
Please don’t edit your photos: We want to see genuine images of windows with a view, so where possible refrain from entering images that have been filtered or edited. Your images can have people in them, but please try to make them non identifiable.
